The Rev. Dr. James Albert Flurer, 63, of 212 Halsey Ave., West Lawn, died Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, just after midnight at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. 

Born in Darby, Aug. 30, 1947, he was a son of the late William G. Sr. and Evelyn Peterkin Flurer. 

He was the pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity UCC, Tower City. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Flurer will be interred with his parents at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 W.
