HICKMAN
WILLIAM ALAN

known to most as Alan, died unexpectedly on August 6, 2017 at the age of 70. Alan was an entrepreneur and business consultant, of Santa Fe, NM. Alan is survived by his wife, Jan Stringer; his brother and sister in law, Peter and Barbara Hickman of Haverford, PA; his step-daughter, Jana Knowlton and husband Chad; his grand-children, Slade Knowlton and Sloan Knowlton. Alan was born in Phila., PA on Jan. 13, 1947 to Walter and Margaret Hickman. He was a proud graduate of Haver-ford High and Penn State 71'. 
Alan traveled many places over his lifetime and shared his knowledge of business throughout many different careers that ranged from the oil industry to the restaurant industry. Alan was a devoted husband and grandfather. An avid sports lover he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, basketball, baseball, and track. 
Alan loved working with his wife Jan and "doing life" with her. Alan and Jan worked to build and grow their own consulting business, where Alan coached many clients to help them "Attract Their Perfect Customers." He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. 
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Alan Hickman is scheduled for 3:00 P.M. on August 27th at the Unity Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Local contributions in Alan's name can be made to Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd., Media, PA 19063 or TylerArboretum.org/giving
