Grew up in Drexel Hill, Pa, 1319 Burmont Rd (a great place to grow up, wish I could go back to that time and hide there forever), went to Haverford Senior High (really good school). I enlisted in the U.S. Army, April 4th, 1966, honorably discharged April 3rd, 1969. Stationed in South Korea, near the DMZ, not that bad at the time and California, Ft. Irwin, a dump and from what I hear, hasn't gotten any better, then transferred to Ft. Ord at Monterey, communication school. Ft. Ord was really nice, right on the Pacific Ocean, I called it a vacation base. In those three years lost some of my classmates in Vietnam, Donnie Wentz, Ridge Aigeldinger. Hated the middle 60's to early 70's. Really bad times. Retired from the Philadelphia County Board of Assistance from 1973 to 2001. Retired two weeks after 9/11 and flew to Florida 10/11. I've been back to the area twice, once in 12/01 the other time was 2003. Drove by my old house, Manoa Public School and the high school, didn't realize back in the 50's and 60's how nice the area was and still is.

I remember having classes with Ridge Aigeldinger, a classmate that was killed in Vietman along with Donnie Wentz, I don't remember which classes Ridge and I had together. I remember something funny in the auditorium, I was sitting next to Ridge and Owen Lawrence was sitting in front of us, Owen turns around and says to me, Tom, do you want to see some dirty pictures, remember dirty pictures then aren't the same as dirty pictures now, they were pretty tame, I said sure, why not, he gives me the pictures and Ridge saw them to but tore them up and started to laugh, I started to laugh also, Owen turned beet red, he was mad, which made me laugh harder. Great days back then, miss them.
