William C. Paul Obituary
William (Bill) C. Paul, 76, of Ocean Pines, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Harrison House in Snow Hill. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Paul and Phyllis (Vernon) Paul.
Bill loved helping people. For 30 years, he owned and operated Paul Enterprises, a property management company in Ocean City, where he was well-known for his tireless dedication to his clients. His commitment to the community extended to his volunteer work with the Ocean City Rec Boosters, where he served as the point person for the Sunset Park concerts and devoted over 20 years to setting up and coordinating the hot-chocolate booth at Winterfest of Lights. His exceptional service was recognized on multiple occasions when he was awarded the Key to the City by the Mayor of Ocean City and earned the coveted title of Volunteer of the Year in 2003. Additionally, Bill was a member of the Ocean City Optimist Club and the Ardmore #273 Masonic Lodge in Ardmore, PA. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him.
Beyond his professional and civic contributions, Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures: boating, listening to music, and spending time on the serene shores of Assateague Island.
Bill is survived by his two sons, James Paul and his wife Cara Downey of Snow Hill, Maryland, and Curtis Paul of Delmar, Delaware; his two grandchildren, Anna Paul, age 5, and Atlas Paul, age 4; and his sister, Patti V. Miller of Medford, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara J. Paul, and his sister, Barbara Tucker of Destin, Florida.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bill’s memory to St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 302 Baltimore Ave, Ocean City, MD 21842, or the Village of Hope, 1001 Lake Street, Salisbury, Maryland 21801.

Bill was my neighbor at the other end of Rockland Road. He was a good trumpet player in the band and orchestra. Last time I saw him was years ago when he drove by in his new Plymouth Roadrunner and greeted me with the"beep-beep" horn. So sorry to see this.Bill Marimow
"Billy," as his friends at Oakmont School knew him back at Oakmont, was a good man and a talented musician. He was the first friend I had with a tree house, which stood just outside his family home on Grasslyn Ave. Although I hadn't seen Bill in decades, I have warm memories of those formative years in Oakmont.

I'm shocked to learn this.I first met Billy in jr. high in the band, and we.continued through.Senior year in both band.and orchestra. Along with Buddy Shafer, we were stand mates on 1st trumpet and, yes,he was an excellent.player.As trumpet players would say, we could really " lay it out " After he joined the HHS site, I called him and we had a nice chat, and he sounded like the same nice guy I.knew all those years ago . I'd hoped to drive down to see him with Buddy Shafer,.but with covidand health issues., unfortunately , it never hsppened. I offer my condolences to his family.

I remember Billy fondly from orchestra, his broad smile and gentle kindness.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's passing on. I remember him well in the trumpet section of our HHS orchestra. Their lovely & loud music was played straight into the ears of the violin section. LOL!! But all of the guys were great trumpeters!! Bill's larger than life smiles were genuinely accepted and brightened up our days and orchestra rehearsals. I could hear the trumpet section chuckling so many times, that I wished i wasn't in the solemn violin section. My condolenses to his two children. I know Bill will be greatly missed.

Billy was a good Oakmont friend. I remember his tree house totally. As nice a tree house as I have ever seen. His trumpet playing was exceptional. He always has his cheeks puffed out while playing.
Sad news!!!

Billy was one of my closest friends throughout high school, both from school and from St. George's. To this day, there is a picture of the St. George's choir, taken when we were in 3rd or 4th grade. in the St. George's choir room. In the fron row are Billy, Jim Bartle, and me. Billy and I also did a Smothers Brothers routine senior year which actually got a mention in the yearbook. While I have not been in touch with him for many years, I still consider him one of my closest childhood friends. His passing deeply saddens me.

What a terrific person. One of my best friends forever...and best man at my wedding. He was naturally talented with music...could play anything any time and do it well. We both had red Chevy convertibles and I ended up buying his Harley Sportster motorcycle. He was an exceptional water skier as well. He was the party meister...his parties were always lots of fun. I remember one party at Grassyln avenue when his parents were at their boat in Maryland for the weekend. At that time he had a 4 door '55 or '56 4 door Plymouth the he used primarily to hit trash cans with the doors back in the day. I remember that car back seat being filled to the windows with quart brown bottles from that party. He was truly a wild thing and would give you the shirt off his back. They don't make many like him...a truly outstanding person. Myself and many others will miss him immensely. Rest in peace Billy.
